Built on a rock, this authentic village was renowned at the time for its black marble quarries and its medieval tower that still stands atop the big rocky hill.
The small village of St. Triphon is located on the banks of the Rhone.
Nestled against its hill covered with hectares of vineyards, it enjoys
an unobstructed view of the neighbouring countryside.
Another treasure of the village is the garden of Saint Triphon, which is located in an idyllic setting where rock garden
plants, medicinal plants as well as mediterranean plants grow side by
side. In the middle of all this vegetation, three beautiful ponds were
installed with a total surface of 180 m2. There is also a "shade house"
to protect grafted plants.
The garden is open to the public every day. There are no specific
visiting hours, because Mr. Aviolat is always in the garden. He
dedicates most of his day to tours. Therefore, you can come and visit
this little corner of paradise whenever you please.
For group visits to the botanical garden of St.Triphon,
it is recommended to make arrangements in advance by writing to the
following address: William Aviolat, Jardin Botanique, 1867 St. Triphon.
