Botanical Garden La Thomasia

At "La Thomasia" the visitor can admire about 3,000 geographically classified mountain plants.

Himalayan species are next to those from our Alps; plants from the upper Andes are flirting with the flowers from the Jura.

The Rocky Mountains are neighbours to the Caucasus; the Andes are rubbing shoulders with Japan; the mountains of New Zealand lean against the Moroccan Atlas and the Arctic regions.

The alpine garden is nestled against the Grand-Muveran, whose spectacular West face, approximately 800 metres high, looms over it.

As the entryway to the "Réserve naturelle du Vallon de Nant" (Nant Valley nature preserve), the garden benefits from very favourable climatic conditions for growing alpine plants.
