Built in the 13th century on Roman foundations, the Castle of Chillon served as the residence of the
Counts of Savoy during the entire Middle Ages.
The Castle of Chillon was initially a fortress and was subjected to numerous
transformations with the goal of adapting to the progress of the defensive and
offensive arms of the time.
