A hike along the route of the "white gold"...
A walk back in history on a themed trail following the exact path of the "saumoduc", a pipeline that carried the precious brine to the plains. The time needed for the hike is approximately five hours.
The point of departure of this trail is the Plambuit stop on the ASD (Aigle-Le Sépey-Les Diablerets) railroad line, located at an altitude of 800 metres. The downhill trail is 12.4 km long and winds through the hamlets of Panex, Glutières and Antagnes.
It includes about 20 informative signs that reveal all about the "white gold" that so generously enriched the local economy in days of yore. Its presence in the Alps, its market value, as well as its nutritional and medicinal values are highlighted.
