There are 80 km of tracks, ranging from 418 to 2544 metres in altitude, which have been marked out according to Swiss hill-walking norms with 30 h of hiking in all, in 4 to 10 daily stages. Intended for good hikers with mountaineering equipment, sturdy boots, warm clothing and hiking maps. More than adequate accommodation, with catering available in hotels, inns, guest houses and mountain huts. 90 min from Geneva, with motorway exits at Bex, Saint-Maurice and Martigny. CFF railway stations at Bex, Saint-Maurice, Evionnaz, Vernayaz and Martigny. Access by cable car from Dorénaz to Champex d’Alesse, mountain cog railway serving the Martigny-Vernayaz-Salvan-Les Marécottes route. Post bus from Bex to Plans-sur-Bex, from Saint-Maurice to Vérossaz, and from Saint-Maurice to Mex.
