At the foot of the mountains, the village Ollon is a small picturesque town with its Château de la Roche, surrounded by the vineyards, for which it is famous.
On the south side, the territory of the town of Ollon is bounded by the Rhone and the gentle hill of St. Triphon. On the north, it climbs up to the Chamossaire and on the northeast it comes down again from the peak of the Meilleret to the Col de la Croix. On the southeast side it stretches along the right bank of the Gryonne up to the hamlets of Panex, Plambuit and Exergillod, which form the border with Grande-Eau on the northwest side.
Thus, the town benefits from the mild climate of the Rhone Valley with its 123 hectares of vineyards. They are planted in five well-defined sectors, allowing good selections of grapes. Then, the territory breathes and opens out into forests and pastures. With its 5,751 hectares, it is the sixth largest town in surface area in the canton.
